My Beloved Soul Mate Christine Geary Passed Away June 18

My beloved soul mate Christine Anne Clark Geary passed away on Father’s Day, June 18, 2023.
While I am given to bursts of tears and anguish, I am grateful for the 15 years time with my soul mate Chrissy, who is the most empathetic and loving being I have ever encountered. Virtually all who ever experienced her presence felt happier as a consequence. It was my greatest good fortune to have been able to know and love Chrissy these past 15 years and an even greater gift to have been able to care for her in her progressive illnesses these past 6 1/2 years. She gave me a generosity of spirit that is unfathomable.

I am grateful to the 10,000 plus fellow Linkedin travelers who had visited my Linkedin Tribute to Chrissy in the first week after she had passed. Chrissy was — is — an extraordinary being. For these initial visitors and for those who followed, and to you who are visiting Chrissy on my blog, I’d like to share a little window into the Spirit of Chrissy.

In the last 11 weeks of Chrissy’s life, through eight successive hospital admissions, when Chrissy was awake and a nurse or respiratory therapist or med-tech or any staff entered her room, Chrissy would greet them with a cheery, “How is your day?!!”   

And after engaging them in conversation, then… “Who is your manicurist? What a beautiful manicure”… or “I love your hair” or … you name it, Chrissy focused on doing all she could to make each of these caregivers feel better about themselves.
Chrissy is the only terminal patient that any of these dedicated, hard-working health professionals ever encountered who greeted them with such endearing love.
